Bonded labor can begin with a small advance for food, medical care, housing, or another urgent need. When wages are extremely low and the debt grows faster than a family can repay it, the obligation can continue for years and may pass from parents to children. Families may also have little legal protection, no savings, and no safe place to go.

Release removes the immediate debt, but it does not automatically provide food, safe housing, school access, transportation, or income. Without short-term stability and a realistic path to work, a family can be pushed back into exploitation. IFF therefore treats release as the first step in a longer process of rebuilding.

IFF works through trusted relationships in Pakistan to understand a family's circumstances, immediate safety needs, debt, and plan after release. Support and spending are documented, and information is checked through more than one trusted person whenever possible. As this process develops, IFF will continue publishing clearer detail about verification and follow-up without exposing information that could put a family at risk.

General-fund gifts are used where the need is greatest across family release, temporary food and housing, school costs, transportation, vocational training, medical needs, audio Bibles, and follow-up. IFF has no salaried staff. Necessary expenses such as payment processing, compliance, professional services, and essential travel are kept limited and tracked separately.

IFF is a young, volunteer-led organization, so a meaningful program percentage should be based on a complete reporting period rather than an estimate. Verified income, program spending, and necessary operating expenses will be published on the Financial Transparency page after the organization's first full reporting period closes.

You may contact IFF before giving if you have a particular area of interest. General-fund gifts provide the greatest flexibility to respond to urgent needs and continue supporting a family through the full rebuilding process. Any specific designation should be confirmed with IFF before the gift is made.

The safety of a family matters more than publishing a story. Names, identifying details, or faces may be withheld when sharing them could create risk. IFF aims to tell stories with dignity and to share only what is appropriate for public use, especially when children are involved.

Audio Scripture can be useful where literacy, time, or access makes printed material difficult to use. Solar-powered players do not depend on household electricity and can be shared within a home. They are one part of IFF's spiritual care and are intended to be offered respectfully, not used as a condition for receiving practical help.
